Town Hall Series
Cannabis in Virginia Town Hall Meeting Series
In continuing the strong advocacy of VirginiansForSaferCannabis.org, we are launching a statewide Cannabis in Virginia Town Hall Meeting Series.
These meetings will take place across Virginia throughout the summer and into the fall, hosted and scheduled by local pastors, church congregations, and community leaders.
Why These Conversations Matter?
A Rapidly Changing Landscape in Virginia
Cannabis legalization in Virginia is driving rapid change — new laws, emerging businesses, and evolving social issues that can be hard to follow. For families and communities, this directly affects our neighborhoods, schools, and children’s future.
There is a meaningful difference between hearing brief updates and truly understanding what is happening. People want clear answers: What is legal now? What are the risks? What policies will shape our communities?
Informed citizens are empowered citizens.
The purpose of this Town Hall Series is to create safe, respectful spaces where communities can:
- Receive clear, factual information
- Ask important questions
- Engage in thoughtful, values-based discussion
- Better understand how these changes affect their local area

Our Position
While we are not in favor of the use of mind-altering substances, we recognize that cannabis legalization will take place in Virginia.
Because of this reality, we strongly advocate for:
- Responsible policies that protect children, youth, and future generations
- Strategic use of tax revenues for community reinvestment
- Maximizing the economic benefits for local communities
Thank you for standing with us in building safer, more informed communities across Virginia.
